Frequently Asked Questions



Question 1. What do I do when I need help?

Answer: You wear a medical alert necklace or a medical alert bracelet and when you need assistance (or if you have an emergency) merely press the pendant on the necklace or bracelet and the Care Center will respond. You may rest assured that proper help will come to your aid.



Question 2. When is the best time to wear the pendant?

Answer: Medical alert necklaces and/or medical alert bracelets are designed to be worn at all times. They are water resistant and should be worn in the shower as well as the bathtub. Wear the medical alert necklace or bracelet to bed at night and do not worry about activating the medical alert system by accident. When you go away from the house leave the medical alert necklace or bracelet on so that you do not need to think about putting it back on when you return.



Question 3. What happens if I activate the medical alert system by accident?

Answer: It is OK to activate the medical alert system at any time even when you do not need assistance. If you activate the medical alert system by accident simply wait until the Call Center asks you if you need help and just tell the monitoring attendant the call was a mistake. We never mind hearing from you.



Question 4. What is the range of a medical alert system?

Answer: It has been our experience that the range of every medical alert system we have installed varies depending upon a variety of factors. The construction materials used to build the house where the medical alert system is situated as well as the lay of the land around the house appear to be the two most significant factors affecting range. During installation we test the range in order to determine the limits of the system and the safety zone of coverage. Only then can we honestly state with any degree of certainty what the range of any system will be.



Question 5. Is there a separate charge for installation?

Answer: Installation is an included Royal Service and we do not charge a separate fee for the installation. Installation is a critical component of Royal Service and it is in the best interest of the client to have an experienced individual install and test every system. Only by installing the system ourselves can we be assured that the systems will function properly.
